Replacing the fixed Fan Clutch

When I first purchased the diesel Land Cruiser I was experiencing overheating problems. The overheating issue would usually occur when climbing steep grades. To remedy this I installed a fixed fan clutch with the help of Mike at West Coast Cruisers. What is a fixed fan clutch you ask? It is basically a fan clutch that has been welded so that it is always spinning.

The fixed fan clutch was from an old 1HZ powered mine truck. While this did fix the overheating issue, it did mean that the fan was always spinning and not allowing the 1HZ to operate more efficiently at higher speeds.

Since the motor is now completely rebuilt along with a new radiator I thought it would be a good time to install an OEM 1HZ fan clutch and gain some more economy and dare I say it, more power?

Time will tell.
